Chris & Lynnette Adkins
After working for two medical alarm companies for 6 years, Stan felt strongly that if folk of any age were physically vulnerable to the point of needing a medical alarm, they needed and deserved help that was personal and local. He knew how much people dislike phoning 0800 numbers with automated voices asking you to “Press 1 for this…and Press 2 for that…” Also, when visiting clients, he would often hear stories of predicaments they had got themselves into trying to be independent: how they had got stuck – in some cases for hours – before they either extricated themselves, or were found by someone else.
So, in 2003 Stan established AlphaCare, primarily to address these issues and provide a more local and personal service.
Ronnie works part time at Oderings Nurseries, and part time in AlphaCare. Stan says this is because, for her, gardening is “an obsession – not a hobby” - evidently a common problem for many garden-lovers! Stan and Ronnie have 3 boys and 4 grandchildren.
Chris & Lynnette Adkins:
After years of farming in and around the Taihape and Mungaweka areas, Chris was forced off the farm due to major back problems. They eventually settled in Wanganui where they pastored in a church and Chris spent some years working with a Maori Trust.
They have 3 children and 1 grandchild.
Now in Christchurch, Chris & Lynnette both work part time in the business, as health permits. Chris visits clients in their homes or in hospital, while Lynnette assists with the admin.
Trudy Beale :
Trudy is married to Stan & Ronnie’s second son Nathan. She is the wonderful mother of 3 of their grand-children, and is our part-time receptionist.
